Almost 30,000 children die each and every day from preventable diseases and malnutrition. Others go neglected, without a place to live, food to eat, medical care, the chance to go to school, loving parents, and so many other basic life necessities. In a world filled with immeasurable resources, no one should be forced to go without-- especially not the most innocent and helpless of all people our world's children. We have a responsibility to all future generations and to people everywhere, as we all form a symbian circle. What happens to one person halfway across the world will inevitably affect everyone else in one way or another. Like the smallest pebble dropped into the largest ocean, what we do here will undoubtedly impact people all over the world. What we do here and now will echo throughout the halls of eternity. Time is so very short, and life is so incredibly precious and fragile. That is why there is no time to lose. By failing to act . . . By turning a blind eye to the suffering that affects our brothers and sisters wherever they may live, we are neglecting our duty as global citizens to help one another in each other's time of need. I have traveled to and/or lived in almost forty different countries around the world on multiple continents, and I have witnessed firsthand the tremendous need that is out there. I promise you that the vast majority of the most financially impoverished individuals living in industrialized nations have far greater access to monetary resources and material goods than those living in what we often refer to as "third world" or "developing" nations. This is why we at the International Orphanage Relief Society warmly welcome people who are interested to join with us and travel to countries where they may work in orphanages and experience for themselves what orphaned children have no choice but to live through each and every day. Our plans are to be able to send medical teams, groups of educators, orphanage- based/global social workers, and others with specialized skills out to various sites to perform specific and sometimes urgent tasks and functions. The need is tremendous, and all help is appreciated! Of course we realize that many people lead such busy lives that they do not have the chance to go out and volunteers in another country even for a week, and that is why these precious children can also use financial support, donations of material goods, etc. Your kindness and compassion go an extremely long way, and together we can help to ensure a bright future for those who cannot speak for themselves. On behalf of the orphans and staff, I wish to extend our most sincere thanks to all of you. With many warm regards and blessings,

| These are two kids who experience extreme poverty in Reynosa, Mexico. They posed for a quick photo as the relief work continued. Children like these put their faith and trust in people like us. They count on us and need wonderful people like you to help them! |
| These are several kids who enjoyed the simple things in life despite the rain and harsh realities they faced each and every day. |
Often houses are constructed of a combination of wood, cardboard, and tin. Would you trade your house for the one this family lives in? |
| The house in the background is indicative of the levels of extreme financial poverty that many people just across the border of the United States live. In a world of such abundance, how can we allow our fellow brothers and sisters to live in such squalor conditions? Is it that easy just to look the other way? |
